citrus mint

This was another blend using both fragrance and essential oils, and it's a blend of citrus (orange, grapefruit, lemon) with mint (spearmint and peppermint).  The best way to describe the scent is that it smells like a soft citrus with a hint of mint.  It's not tart and nothing is coming through as being overpowering...just a nice, mellow citrus scent.

I wanted to color the soap naturally for this batch and decided to go with carrots.  I was hoping the carrot puree would give a citrusy color and it sure did...it turned out to be a pretty golden color.

The carrot puree was added in right along with distilled water to make the lye solution.

And I have one more piece of news...it's still a work in progress, but I started an online shop.  I pretty much spent all summer looking into online venues (there are so many!) and chose Zibbet...it seemed like a nice fit for me.  If you'd like to take a peek, just click on the button at the top right!

  1. Online shop, congratulations!
I should buy more essential oils. Citrus and mint sounds so interesting. And it goes well with the carrot. Nice!

    1. Thanks so much Natalia! It's turning out to be a real mellow blend. It's nice, but today it seemed different (I picked up more mint)...this one's going to be interesting, can't wait to use it!

That's interesting you mentioned it...I'm going to have to address international shipping at some point. I worry about restrictions to countries, so need to look into some things. :)

  10. The scent blend sounds lovely, Kalla! I love both citrus and mint, and I'll bet they would be fantastic together. Carrot is a wonderful ingredient. I made a soap with carrot juice once and really enjoyed it. Congrats on opening your online shop! Best wishes to you!
