lemongrass and lavender

I was going to make another Grapefruit Lavender batch, but already made Pink Grapefruit (that's too many grapefruit-scented soaps to have on hand!), so I had to find something else to blend with Lavender.  Lemongrass was the next choice and I have a big bottle of it...it's one of my staples!  I really like this blend too...used close to equal parts of both-just a little more of Lemongrass than Lavender because I wanted more of the lemon scent to come through, and it did.

I finally got to use the ultramarine violet that I purchased from Coastal Scents. I rarely ever need to use purple colorant, so that's also part of why I chose the Lemongrass and Lavender blend.  I used my slab mold and did a very light-handed violet swirl.  The pour on top was very thin (the violet)...like a light drizzle, and I used a wooden skewer to make dainty swirls.  I left the other part uncolored to see how yellow it would get from the oils and fragrance...it turned out a very pale yellow.  And of course, I had to use my beveler/planer to pretty them up!

  2. Very pretty delicate swirls! I just bought lavender and lemongrass to blend. How funny. I like how they look after beveling. Now I want a beveler! There's always something I don't have. LOL!

  4. I love the very delicate swirls on top! And your beveler makes your bars look very smooth and professional! I think the mix of EOs is a great idea - I'll bet it's a nice spring scent.

    1. Thanks Chrissy! I really like my beveler...can't believe how nice it makes the bars look! The blend does have that fresh spring scent, especially with a little more of the lemon coming through...and I should mention that I used FOs. :)
